The Canadian Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) is part of the federal governments Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. They are Canadas most comprehensive network of international business professionals with offices in over 150 cities worldwide.

The TCS provides four key services:
Preparation for International Markets:
- provide advice and information to clients who are trying to enter the international marketplace - including identifying the risks and challenges of doing business in a specific market and up-to-date foreign market information and intelligence.
Market Potential Assessment:
- information and intelligence to help clients determine their level of opportunity in a particular market - including information on how business is done in the market, an indication of major barriers, regulations and certification requirements, insight into emerging trends, future regulations, and an assessment of competition from local and foreign entities.
Qualified Contacts:
- provide clients with lists of qualified contacts who can assist clients in targeting and implementing their marketing strategy - including providing information from our offices perspective on specific companies and organizations, and introducing clients to qualified contacts.
Problem Solving:
- provide clients with advice and assistance in understanding and resolving business, investment or other market-access problems - including clarifying confusing business practices, customs classification or clearance issues, contract bid preparation and procedures, shipping difficulties, storage and warehouse options and issues related to the expropriation and sale of assets.
Available through our website is the Virtual Trade Commissioner (VTC), an interactive tool that provides your company information to our Trade Commissioners and contains country information and business opportunities that match your international business interests.
