INDUSTRY SUPPORT

ORIC will support the (local) industry. It uses the Labs, Equipment, Library and Software of NRC-DRAO. Available are two anechoic chambers usable from 1 to 20 GHz for far-field and near-field antenna performance measurement. An open-field site is also available. As well as standard laboratory equipment, the latest measurement equipment includes Network and Spectrum Analyzers, Noise Analyzers and Generators, Data Generators, Logic Analyzers, Frequency Counters.

Available Equipment List:
Network Analyzers
Spectrum Analyzers
Noise Figure Analyzers
Digital Signal Analyzers
Data Generators
Signal Sources
Microwave Frequency Counters
Logic Analyzers
Noise Generators
Vector Impedance Meters
RFI Detection Equipment
X-Ray Analyzer
Anechoic Chamber
Re-work Station
Environmental Chambers

A detailed description of the available equipment can be downloaded here

A suite of powerful and flexible software packages for Electronic Design Automation (EDA) is available at NRC-DRAO. Covered are packages for microwave devices and circuits, antennas, electronic circuit design, real-time software development, mechanical and PCB design, thermal analysis, FPGA and IC design

"THE VIRTUAL ANTENNA LAB"

CST Microwave Studio — a full-wave, three-dimensional time-domain simulator that can model structures and devices with arbitrary shapes and compositions
IE3D — a frequency-domain simulator optimized for layered dielectrics such as found in printed circuit boards or in patch antennas.
GRASP — a simulator optimized for the analysis of reflector antennas.
